Breast disease - what does this mean? | Breast Pain Blog



The mastopathy term describing various breast tissue changes that may be associated with or without symptoms and particularly flourished under the influence of hormones. Fibrocystic breast disease mainly occurs in women between 30 and 55 years.
Breast changes are classified differently: Ranging from "normal" to "almost pathological" to review "high enough risk factor for breast cancer." Therefore many of these changes should also not be treated, while others require at least regelmäßger control.

Forms of fibrocystic breast disease

Doctors distinguish histological ("after Prechtel") three levels of severity. Fibrocystic breast disease level I according to the simple form. Connective tissue is only slightly increased, and there are some cysts.
Is a tendency to increase the enhancement of normal tissue in individual milk ducts, this corresponds to class II. Here, the dynamic image of small nodules, scar train and constricted milk ducts appear.
In class III comprises a greater proliferation of the glandular cells in the milk ducts (hyperplasia). It also could be a change in the image linked cell: cell made with so-called atypical hyperplasia, the cells have recently added their character changed something and departed from the normal cell types more or less than. A similar expression is called atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH).
Fibrocystic breast changes affect in general. In the second half of the cycle, ie the time between ovulation and menstruation, they are pronounced and then be able to make more complaints. After menopause, they are formed depending on the severity often returned if no hormones for menopausal complaints are taken.
